SHEFFIELD - Rebecca J. MacHaffie, 50, of 38 Elm Court, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Torrington, Conn., on Dec. 15, 1956, daughter of Richard L. and Judith Milne Ross, she graduated in 1974 from Walt Whitman High School in Huntington, N.Y., from the University of Vermont in 1978 and from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1981. Mrs. MacHaffie was employed by Berkshire Life Insurance Co. as an actuary and, most recently, by Bird House Galleries, where she worked in the sales department. She and her husband, Allan MacHaffie, celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary Oct. 11. Besides her husband and parents, of Pittsfield, she leaves a daughter, Allison MacHaffie of Sheffield; a son, William MacHaffie of Sheffield; two brothers, William Ross of Butler, Pa., and Richard Ross of New York, and two aunts, Linda Matteodo of Pittsfield and Susan Deblasiis of Dalton. A brother, Jeffrey M. Ross, died March 9, 2007. FUNERAL NOTICE - There will be no funeral or calling hours for Rebecca J. MacHaffie, who died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007.
