April Ehrenman, 73

GREAT BARRINGTON - April Ehrenman, 73, formerly of State Road, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Manchester, Mo. She had moved to St. Louis two years ago to be near her son, Matthew Ehrenman. Born in Grafton, W.Va., on July 25, 1934, daughter of Ivan and Jessie Maureen White Headley, she attended schools there and graduated from St. Vincent's Nursing School in New York City. Mrs. Ehrenman and her husband, the late Howard N. Ehrenman, owned and operated Red Horse Antiques from the former L'Abbe property on State Road, which they purchased in 1968. Mrs. Ehrenman had also worked as a nurse in New York, the state of Florida and California. She was the set nurse for the "Here's Lucy Show," and a surgical nurse assisting in pioneer heart surgery. In her last days of her life she enjoyed love and peace in her soul. She enjoyed close loving relationships with her family. She was a valued member of her church and community. Her husband, whom she married in Tarrytown, N.Y., in 1965, died Feb. 13, 2001. She also was predeceased a son, John Davis, shortly after birth, and a brother and sister. Besides her son and his wife, Penelope, of Chesterfield, Mo., she leaves three grandchildren, Esther Grace Ehrenman, David John Ehrenman and Anna Hope Ehrenman. FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services for April Ehrenman will be conducted on Monday, Dec. 10, at 10 by the Rev. Mark Saruer at Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 9, from 4 until 5 p.m. at funeral home.
