Courtland Tucker

Courtland Tucker, 79, formerly of 161 West Housatonic St., died Wednesday at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield, where he had resided since March 2, 2006. Born on Dec. 16, 1928, Mr. Tucker was employed by the city of Pittsfield as a laborer in the former sanitation department, now the Department of Public Works, for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Following his retirement, he was a maintenance man at the former Friendly Ice Cream on West Housatonic Street and at Over the Rainbow Restaurant. He enjoyed NASCAR racing. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Courtland Tucker, who died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, will be held Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at 9 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. Those planning to attend may meet within the cemetery gate at 8:45 a.m. There will be no calling hours. DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, is handling arrangements.
