Pauline M. North

Pauline M. North, 86, of New Lenox Road died Saturday at home. She spent winters at her home in Port Richey, Fla. Born in Pittsfield on March 5, 1921, daughter of Lyman D. and Flora Bell Phillips Bardin, she attended Pittsfield and Dalton schools. Mrs. North was employed by the former Eaton Paper Co., later Sheaffer-Eaton Textron, in Pittsfield, as a machine operator, retiring in the late 1970s. Before that, she worked at Crane & Co. in Dalton. She was a former member of St. Helena's Chapel in New Lenox and had been a member of bowling leagues in Pittsfield and in New Lebanon, N.Y. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing cards, and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox. Her husband, Herbert P. North, whom she married April 27, 1945, in Schodack, N.Y., died March 20, 2001. She leaves two sons, Alan H. North of Lenox Dale and Daniel L. North of Pittsfield; two daughters, Paula J. Rhinemiller of Cheshire and Terry M. Schulze of Fort Edward, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Pauline M. North, who died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, will be held Wednesday at noon at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox. Calling hours will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
