Arlin P. Bedard

Adams - Arlin P. Bedard, 81, of 1 Berkshire Square, died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Adams, on May 24, 1926, daughter of Bernard and Antoinette Markiewicz Sirard, she moved to Hoosick Falls, N.Y., as a child with her family and attended schools there. She returned to Adams as a young woman and graduated from the former Bliss Business School in North Adams. Mrs. Bedard worked in the town of Adams treasurer-tax collector's office for many years until her retirement. She had previously been employed by the former Arnold Print Works in Adams. She was a communicant of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Church, and was the treasurer of the Berkshire Mill Apartments Tenants' Association. Mrs. Bedard enjoyed traveling with her husband to casinos, reading, working on puzzles, and playing cards in the recreation room at Berkshire Square. She married Norbert G. Bedard on Feb. 15, 1947, in Notre Dame Church. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Kevin Bedard of Adams; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Arlin Bedard, who died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon in Notre Dame Church in Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to any charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home. Mrs. Bedard also leaves her son Kevin's companion, Susan LeBeau, and her two children, Mitchell and Samantha LeBeau of Adams; her former daughter-in-law, Susan, her husband David Beauchamp, and their three children, Kurtis, Russell and Carol, all of North Adams; three grandchildren, Sheryl and John Bedard and Anne Beauchamp; seven great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.
