John M. Warner, 64

CHESHIRE - John Michael Warner, 64, of 117 Meadowbrook Lane, a longtime resident of Cheshire, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at home. Born in Pittsfield on May 9, 1943, son of Arthur and Charlotte Fitzpatrick Warner, he was a 1961 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Warner was employed by General Electric Co. as a machinist in ordnance systems for 35 years, retiring in 2001. After that, he was a courier for The Berkshire Eagle for three years. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the National Hot Rod Association. He was active with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in Troop 31 and coached Farm League Baseball. He enjoyed drag racing, reading, hunting and fishing and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins. He and his wife, the former Mary A. Reardon, were married June 8, 1963, in Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Thomas A. Warner and his wife, Lori, of Pittsfield and Timothy M. Warner of Arkadelphia, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Sharon Talis; a brother-in-law, Jerry Talis, three grandchildren, Morgan, Meghan and Thomas Jr., and two nieces, Jennifer King and Kristen Formanek. FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for John M. Warner will be Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10:15 a.m. from Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Mary's Church in Cheshire by the Rev. Mark J. Burke, SJ, administrator of St. Patrick's and St. Raphael's Parish in Williamstown. Burial will be in the spring in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern Berkshire or to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire, MA 01225.
