Jenny A. Harmon, 54

STOCKBRIDGE - Jenny Ann Harmon, 54, of 425 Morse Hill Road, Amenia, N.Y., formerly of Stockbridge, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at home. Born in Steuben, Maine, on Dec. 17, 1953, daughter of Guy and Ann-Sofi Rameo Merritt, she moved to Stockbridge in 1962 and then to Hartsville, where she attended Southern Berkshire Regional Schools, graduating in 1972. She attended Springfield Tech, and from 1984 to 1998, various art schools. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1988 majoring in visual arts and psychology, and in 1998 from Central Connecticut State University with graduate certification in special education. She joined the Army and Army Reserves and was a training specialist and medical illustrator from 1976 to 1984. Ms. Harmon went on to teach art for 10 years at the Kildonan School in Amenia, where she was chairman of the art department. She leaves a son, Aaron Harmon of Goshen, Conn.; two sisters, Karen Bickford of Dunmore, W.Va., and Loris Turner of Egremont; three brothers, Delano Merritt of Brewer, Maine, Wade Merritt of Alburg, Vt., and Dean Merritt of Mechanicsville, Va.; and her former husband, David Harmon of Goshen, Conn. She was predeceased by a sister, Frances Tina Merritt-Cohoon. FUNERAL NOTICE - A celebration of life for Jenny Ann Merritt Harmon, who died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, will be held at the Kildonan School dining hall, Morse Hill Road, Amenia, N.Y., on Saturday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Kildonan School Art Department, 425 Morse Road, Amenia, NY 12501.
