Nancy A. Minery, 73

Otis - Nancy A. Minery, 73, of 68 West Center Road, died Tuesday evening at her home. Born in Otis on June 4, 1934, daughter of Myron and Bernice Cowell Thomas, she was educated in Otis and Lee schools and was a 1952 graduate of Lee High School. In her younger years, she drove school bus for the Town of Otis, and then was employed in waitressing and bartending jobs at various establishments in Otis. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping and her grandchildren. Her husband, Erving A. Minery, whom she married Nov. 11, 1952, died Nov. 4, 2006. Mrs. Minery leaves two sons, Alan E. Minery of Otis and Norman T. Minery of Vass, N.C.; a daughter, Kelly M. Hamdan of Hopewell, N.J.; three brothers, Jim Thomas of Otis, John Thomas of Arlington, Iowa, and Jerry Thomas of Monterey; two sisters, Lisa Thomas and Donna Simmons, both of Otis; and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Nancy Thomas Minery, who died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee with the Rev. Richard E. Hayes, hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Otis Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home are tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Otis Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. Mrs. Minery leaves her loving grandchildren Jennifer, Melanie and Lyn Minery, Nabil, Noah and Ariel Hamdan, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Anita. She was predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Sabrina Minery.
