Robert C. Malloy, 69

CHESHIRE - Robert Clayton Malloy, 69, of 8 Third St., died Jan. 31, 2008, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where he had been admitted the previous day. Born in Adams on April 14, 1938, son of Louis W. and Mary Louise Gardner Malloy, he attended local schools, including the former Notre Dame School in Adams. Mr. Malloy's earliest employment was with the former Brightwater Paper Co. in Adams, then as a diesel mechanic with the Greylock Ice and Fuel Co. on Orcutt Street in Adams. He was a member of the Notre Dame Church in Adams. He enjoyed horse pulling, owned several horses and was a charter member of the Berkshire County Horse Puller Association. Mr. Malloy's first marriage was to Marie E. Scrivens. He married the former Katherine Cribbins in North Adams on Oct. 21, 1987. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Dennis and Robert Malloy Jr., both of Adams; two daughters, Mary Malloy of Cheshire and Ann Martin of North Adams; three stepdaughters, Andrea Douthit of North Adams, Alice Demarsico of Cheshire and Stephanie LeMay of North Adams; six brothers, Louis Malloy Jr. of Palatka, Fla., Joe Malloy of Cheshire, Bernard Malloy of Savoy, William Malloy of Cheshire, Ronald Malloy of Savoy and Gene Malloy of Conway; three sisters, Theresa Whitmore of Satsuma, Fla., Mary Jane Ferris of North Adams and Rose Shaffrick of Cheshire, and eight grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE - A service in a Roman Catholic tradition for the life of Robert Clayton Malloy, who died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. from MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME of Adams. The Rev. Daniel J. Boyle of the Roman Catholic Parishes of Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery. A visitation period will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
