Adeline F. Angelini, 96

GREAT BARRINGTON - Adeline F. Angelini, 96, longtime resident of Oak Street in Housatonic, died Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2008 at Fairview Commons, where she had resided for several years. Born on May 4, 1911, in the family home on Oak Street, the daughter of Erminio and Mary Bertoli Sermini, she attended local schools and graduated from the former Searles High School in 1928. She graduated from the former North Adams State College in 1930 and the University of Hartford, Conn., in 1956. Mrs. Angelini retired in 1976 from Berkshire Hills Regional School District, where she had been a third-grade teacher at the former Stockbridge Plain School for 20 years. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Housatonic and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the Thursday Morning Club; the Berkshire County Teachers Association and the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association. She was also an avid reader. Her husband, George R. Angelini, whom she married Nov. 13, 1933, in Corpus Christi Church, who died May 3, 1999. She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Angela Angelini of Windsor, Conn.; two daughters Mary Zmistowski of Indiantown, Fla., and Nan Foster and her husband, Maurice, of Portsmouth, N.H., 11 grandchildren, Donald, Douglas, David, Duane Foster, Bruce, Edward, Lynn Agelini, Mary Noel, Thad, Ellen and John Zmistowski and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Irving and Harry Sermini. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Adeline Angelini will be held on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at 10 a.m. from Corpus Church in Housatonic by the Rev. William Murphy, pastor. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 14, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ramsdell Library Children's Collection through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
