Cora Daigle, 79

GREAT BARRINGTON - Cora Daigle, 79, of South Main Street, formerly of Church Street, died Friday morning, Feb. 22, 2008, at Fairview Hospital. Born in Frenchville, Maine, on Sept. 26, 1928, the daughter of Thomas and Emma Boutot Deschaine, she attended schools in Maine. She moved to the Berkshires in 1955. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Daigle worked part time at the Neighborhood Diner and at the former Jones' Bar and Grill, both in Great Barrington. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and enjoyed knitting and making chicken soup. She especially cherished spending time with her family. Her husband, Homer Daigle whom she married July 3, 1946, in Fort Kent, Maine, is deceased. She leaves five sons, Frank Daigle and Robert Daigle, both of Daytona Beach, Fla., James Daigle of Chatham, N.Y., Philip Daigle of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Richard Daigle of New Britain, Conn.; a daughter, Diane Daigle of Plymouth, Conn.; 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased 13 brothers and sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Daigle will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington by the Rev. William Murphy, pastor. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. Donations may be made to the Cora Daigle Memorial Fund through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
