GREAT BARRINGTON — Brian Guy Soldati, 40, of Prospect Street, died March 11, 2008, at home following a brief illness. Born in Great Barrington on Nov. 22, 1967, son of Helen Ames Soldati and the late Edgar "Guy" Soldati, he attended local schools, including Monument Mountain Regional High School. Mr. Soldati worked at Compression Products in Sheffield from 1991 until 1997. He later became his mother's primary caregiver, until she moved to Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Since then, he would visit her at dinner time every day and they would watch old movies together. He was well known by the staff and would brighten up the residents' day by always stopping to visit with each one. Mr. Soldati would often go to Four Brothers' Pizza for dinner, where he was welcomed by the staff and enjoyed their hospitality. He touched the lives of many people and will be sadly missed. Besides his mother, he leaves by two brothers, Ronald Soldati and his wife, Maggie, of Great Barrington and Wayne Soldati of Mill Valley, Calif.; a sister, Lori Pothul and her husband, Steven, of Sheffield; five nephews, Dylan and Brody Soldati, Shaun Pothul, Tyler Sullivan-Lopez and Cameron Garcia; two nieces, Heather Sullivan and Bethany Pothul, and many cousins and friends. FUNERAL NOTICE — In accordance with his mother's wishes funeral services will be private and there will be no calling hours. Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
