Betty R. Foster, 79
GREAT BARRINGTON â€' Betty Reed Foster, 79, of North Plain Road, Housatonic, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at home.
Born in Great Barrington on Dec. 4, 1928, daughter of Paul W. and Bessie Reed Foster, she attended local schools and graduated from the former Searles High School with the class of 1946. She also attended the former Business School in Boston, now Fisher Business School.
Miss Foster worked at the former Jug End Barn in Egremont for 14 years and then as an office manager at Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Lee for 25 years, retiring in 1991.
She loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan. She also enjoyed taking care of her lawns and gardens.
"She is survived by her sister in law Helen M. Foster of Valley Station, Kentucky, as well as several nieces and nephews."
She was predeceased by her brothers Paul W. Foster Jr. and Thomas M. Foster.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' A service celebrating the life of Betty Reed Foster will be conducted on Friday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington by the Rev. Charles VanAusdall. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
