Peggy C. Field, 53
MONTEREY - Peggy C. Field, 53, of River Road died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at her home.
Born in Bristol, Conn., on June 11, 1954, daughter of James and Eloise Currier Carr, she moved with her family to Sandisfield, where she attended local schools. She graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington.
Mrs. Field had a passion for cooking and opened her own diner Peg’s Place in Sandisfield. After it closed, she co-owned Daffer’s Bed and Breakfast along with her husband, John Field. Most recently she worked at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, prior to that at Berkshire School in Sheffield.
An avid reader, she also loved to garden and do crossword puzzles, but most of all loved her family.
Besides her husband she leaves her son, James Easton of Greenwich, Conn.; her daughter, Connie Walker of Breckenridge, Colo.; four stepchildren, John Field of Southfield, Sheri Loranger of Manchester, N.H.; Jennifer Field of Sandisfield, and Terri Field of Winsted, Conn.; five brothers, Norman Carr of Grand Forks, N.D., Patrick Carr of Pittsfield, Brian Carr of Columbus, Ohio and Michael Carr and Sean Carr, both of Sandisfield; five sisters; Jamie Carr and Kathleen Dyer of Otis, Mary Cohutt of Westfield, Theresa Carr of Herber City, Utah, and Shannon Bates of East Longmeadow, as well eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by another brother James Carr in 2001.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' A graveside service celebrating the life of the Peggy L. Field will be conducted on Monday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at Sandisfield Cemetery, by the Rev. Charles VanAusdall.
There will be no calling hours.
