Audrey R. Cruikshank, 90
SHEFFIELD — Audrey R. Cruikshank, 90, of 525 Hewins St. died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees, N.J.
Born in Sharon, Conn., on May 19, 1918, daughter of Edward and Ethel Spencer Riiska, she attended schools in Gilbert, Conn., and was a 1936 graduate of Gilbert High School. She moved to Sheffield in 1950.
Mrs. Cruikshank was an active member of Old Parish Church and of Berkshire Botanical Garden. In addition to gardening, she enjoyed fishing and horse driving.
Her husband, Donald F. Cruikshank, whom she married on May 8, 1943, in Norfolk, Conn., died Sept. 5, 2007.
She leaves two daughters, Terry Cruikshank of Cherryhill, N.J., and Sally Gaarn of El Paso, Texas; a brother, Raymond Riiska of Ashley Falls, and a granddaughter, Karly Bader.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Audrey Cruikshank will be conducted on Monday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Old Parish Church by the Rev. Jill Graham, pastor. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Cemetery in New Marlborough.
Family will received friends at a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at Birches-Roy Funeral Home. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Cruikshank's memory be made to Old parish Church or the Berkshier Botanical Garden in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
