Virginia J. Morrissey, 84
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Virginia Josephine Morrissey, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Sweet Brook Care Centers.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 4, 1924, daughter of Francis Joseph and Virginia Miller Morrissey, she attended the former St. Joseph's schools, graduating the high school in 1941. She earned her business degree from Regis College in 1945. She resided in Belmont and moved to Yarmouth Port in 1990.
Ms. Morrissey was an account with John Hancock Insurance in Boston for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of the Regis College Alumni Society and the Belmont Council on Aging's Meals on Wheels program.
She leaves several cousins, including Mary Gangemi of Williamstown and Sheila Brothers of Derby, Conn.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
