David K. Cartinelli, 68
SHEFFIELD, Mass. — David K. Cartinelli, 68, of Silver Street died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at home following a valiant 15-year battle with cancer.
A native of Sheffield, he was born at home on Jan. 31, 1940, son of Olympio and Leona Cartinelli. Named after his maternal grandfather, he attended local schools.
Mr. Cartinelli was a self-employed mason and carpenter.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and landscaping. He also enjoyed music and cherished spending time with his family.
He and his wife, the former Barbara Wilbur, were married April 24, 1965, in Our Lady of the Valley Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Christina Cartinelli Smith and her husband, Patrick, of Brunswick, N.Y.; a son, Adam John Cartinelli of Sheffield; his siblings Maria Manghue, Rene Manghue, Thomas Manghue, Richard Cartinelli, Catherine Harvey, Patricia Goslee, Marcia Patterson, Shirley Bonetti, Nancy Bunce, Agusta Bugoj and Agatha James, and numerous nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Mass celebrating the life of Mr. Cartinelli will be conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Church by the Rev. Henry Kowalczyk, pastor.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, Jan. 19, from 4 until 7 at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington.
