Daniel G. Kelleher, 77

WATERVLIET, N.Y. — Daniel G. Kelleher, 77, of Cabrini Acres Senior Apartments died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Albany Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kelleher had family in the Berkshires. Born in the Bronx on Dec. 6, 1931, son of William and Winifred Gallagher Kelleher, he attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. After his marriage, he moved to Garnerville and later lived in Old Chatham and, for the past 30 years, in Voorheesville, Latham and Watervliet. An Army veteran, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., with the 82nd Airborne Division and attained the rank of corporal. Mr. Kelleher worked as a purchasing agent for Titanium Metals of America for many years. He later was employed in bookkeeping and sales for many firms including, Ford Products Co., Walter Motor Co., C.R. Drywall and Critical Care America. He enjoyed sports, and was an avid Red Sox fan and enthusiastic follower of his granddaughters' involvement in athletics. He enjoyed summer outings with his family at Lake George, long rides in the country side and dining out. His marriaege to the former Frances Quinn on May 26, 1956, ended in divorce. He leaves his son, John Kelleher of Egremont, Mass.; his daughter, Patricia Sullivan and her husband, Patrick D., of New Marlborough, Mass., and his former wife, Frances Kelleher of Housatonic, Mass.; his beloved granddaughters, Kerri and Tara Sullivan; his special friend, Gladys Blanchard, his sidekick Joseph "Pep" Gouger and his extended family and friends at Cabrini Acres. He was predeceased by his daughter Marie Kelleher, with whom he will be buried in New York. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services celebrating the life of Daniel G. Kelleher will be conducted on Wednesday, March 11, at 10 a.m. from Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington by teh Rev. Daniel Papineau, MIC. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, from 4 until 7 at the funeral home.
