Cecelia M. McConnell, 93
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Cecelia M. McConnell, 93, of 82 Langlois Ave. died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Canada on Nov. 28, 1915, daughter of Joseph and Rose Rancourt Grenier, she attended schools in North Adams.
A homemaker, Mrs. McConnell was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. in her younger years. Her main focus in life was her family; she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the Williamstown Friendship Club.
Her husband, Edward L. McConnell Sr., whom she married Feb. 16, 1946, died July 6, 1975.
She leaves a daughter, Betty Ann Labombard and her husband, Kenneth, of North Adams; two sons, Edward L. "Ted" McConnell Jr. of Williamstown, with whom she made her home, and Thomas O. McConnell and his wife, Sharon, of Chicopee; four grandchildren, Stacy Gagne, Kenneth Labombard Jr., Thomas O. McConnell Jr. and Sharmin Wengender, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Loretta Menard and Ida Decoteau.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private funeral services will take place Tuesday at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Williamstown Village Ambulance Service.
