Marie V. Figueroa, 91
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marie Virginia Figueroa, 91, of 85 Eagle St., St. Joseph's Court, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in New York City on Feb. 12, 1918, daughter of Charles and Maria DiGiacomo Parrelli, she attended schools there and graduated from St. Savior High School. She moved to North Adams in 2004.
Mrs. Figueroa was employed by the Department of Social Services in Suffolk County, N.Y., for more than 20 years.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Alfred A. Figueroa, whom she married Dec. 15, 1943, died April 26, 1991.
She leaves a son, Charles Figueroa of East Islip, N.Y.; five daughters, Judith Moccio of East Islip, Joan Sabino of Oakdale, N.Y., Regina Manfredo of Jacksonville, Fla., Claire Cohen of Tucson, Ariz., and Francine Klein of Williamstown; a sister, Josephine Lee of Red Bank, N.J.; two brothers, Charles Parrelli Jr. of Edison, N.J., and Anthony Parrelli of Chico, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews
Another brother and a sister are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Figueroa will be celebrated Saturday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be private.
Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, will be Saturday morning from 9 to 11. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of North Berkshire or Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the funeral home.
