Wayne G. Field, 59

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Wayne G. Field, 59, of River Road died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, in Great Barrington after a short illness. A native and lifelong resident of Great Barrington, he was born on Aug. 28, 1949, son of Gerald and Thelma Meyette Field. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he enlisted on June 4, 1969, and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal before being honorably discharged on March 17, 1971. Mr. Field worked for many years as a mechanic at Gould Farm in Monterey. He loved all kinds of music and being outdoors. He was also a master at repairing small engines. Besides his mother, of Great Barrington, he leaves two brothers, Gerald Field of Pittsfield and John Field of Monterey; a sister, Linda Cronk of North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE — The family invites friends and relatives to join them for a graveside service with military honors celebrating the life of Mr. Field on Friday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. at Corashire Cemetery in Monterey, conducted by the Rev.
