Anne Dignon, 81
POWNAL, Vt. — Anne Dignon, 81, of 556 Mann Hill Road died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at home.
Born in West Orange, N.J., on June 7, 1928, daughter of Edward R. and Anne Richards Nichols, she attended the Beard School and graduated from Dobbs High School. She also attended the Art Students League in New York City, where she studied with Frank Vincent Dumond.
Mrs. Dignon worked as an artist and painted throughout her life. She was also a homemaker to her family.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown, Mass., and enjoyed sailing.
She leaves her husband, James M. Dignon, whom she married on June 23, 1959; a son, Hugh Dignon of Mendocino, Calif., and a daughter, Diane DeMeo of Austin, Texas.
She was predeceased by her brothers Remington and Bruce Dignon.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Dignon will be Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown. Burial will be in the spring in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the COTY/Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund (EQR) in care of the funeral home.
