Marianne C. Congello, 68
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marianne C. Congello, 68, of 60 Marion Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on Jan. 25, 1942, daughter of Phyllis DiPippo Marini of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., anad the late Oberdan Marini, she graduated from A.B. Davis High School there and attended Hunter College in New York.
Mrs. Congello was employed at Williams College in the provost's office for 18 years until her retirement in 2007. Before that, she was a longtime volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital, serving on the board of directors and as chairman of the board.
She was a member of Harvest Christian Ministries in Bennington, Vt. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking and traveling.
She and her husband, Salvatore J. Congello, were married on Sept. 21, 1963.
Besides her mother and her husband, she leaves a daughter, Anne-Rita Carletta and her husband, Eugene, of Smyrna, N.C.; two sons, S. Joseph Congello of North Adams and Oberdan Congello and his wife, Lillian, of Gray, Tenn.; two brothers, Ulisse Marini and his wife, Laura, of Wilmington, N.C., and John Marini and his wife, Desiree, of Westin, Fla.; a sister, Lucia Clements and her husband, Ray, of Palm Beach Gardens, and four grandchildren.
