Gertrude Gumbleton Howland, 83
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Gertrude M. Gumbleton Howland, 83, of 50 Endicott St., Danvers, a former resident of North Adams, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Union Hospital in Lynn.
Born in Fitchburg on Nov. 25, 1926, daughter of George and Martha Haase Erickson, she graduated from Fitchburg High School.
Mrs. Howland was primarily a homemaker. While in North Adams, she attended First Congregational Church. She had not lived in the city for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Howland, and her by first husband, John J. Gumbleton.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Trenti of Gloucester and Judith Pasierbiak of North Adams; a sister, Janet Pontbriand of Fitchburg; three grandchildren, John Pasierbiak and Sarah Trenti of Gloucester and Tina Lamond of Rockport; three great-grandchildren, John, Sam and Natalie Lamond; her sister's children, Sharon Nelsonand Andrew Pontbriand and his wife, Christine, all of Gardner, and Robert Pontbriand of Fitchburg; and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Erickson of Flint, Mich.
She was predeceased by a son, John Eric Gumbleton on May 4, 1975, and by a brother, Raymond Erickson.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Mrs. Howland will be Saturday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
