Gary L.Crews, 61
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Gary Lee Crews, 61, of 925 River Road died Thursday, March 25, 2010, of lung cancer at home, surrounded by his family.
Born in North Adams on Oct. 15, 1948, son of Kenneth and Marion Brewer Crews, he graduated from Drury High School in 1967.
Mr. Crews was employed with A-1 Septic Service for about five years. Prior to that, he owned and operated Just a Little Gift Shop on State Street. He also worked as a bartender at the former Altiere's on State Street.
He enjoyed playing golf.
He leaves his wife, the former Debra Ann Lyons, whom he married on Oct. 20, 1990; two sons, Michael Crews of North Adams and Matthew Crews of Clarksburg; a stepdaughter, Terri Williams of South Carolina; a brother, Kenneth Crews of North Adams; three sisters, Cheryl Bergendahl of Drury, Kathy Ascevich of Williamstown and Marcia Messina of North Adams, three grandchildren, Collin Crews, Destiny Crews and Nikky Crews, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Crews will be Monday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West St., North Adams. Burial will be private.
Calling hours at the funeral home will Monday from 4 to 7. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Adams Ambulance Service or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
