Richard C. Carsno, 62
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Richard C. Carsno, 62, of 12 Rand St. died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 15, 1947, a son of James F. Carsno Sr. and Charlotte Grosz Carsno, he attended schools in North Adams and graduated from McCann Technical School.
He served in the Army from 1968 to 1970, during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Carsno was employed for 27 years by the city of North Adams in the Water Department; he retired on Aug. 16.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He loved animals and cats and his good friend's dog Penny.
He leaves five sisters, Charlene Fongeallaz of Wilmington, Del., Judith Bachand of Clarksburg, Linda Lavariere of Adams, Diane Bellinger of Dalton and Anita Semp of Worcester, N.Y.; a brother, James F. Carsno Jr. of Swansboro, N.C.; his best friend, Donna Garner of North Adams, and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and a sister, Robert Carsno, Donald Grosz and Joanne Coolbaugh, predeceased him.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Carsno will take place Saturday morning, Aug. 21, at 11 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
Calling hours will be Friday evening from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Donations in his memory are suggested for the American Cancer Society through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
