Elizabeth Carlow, 94
CLARKSBURG, Mass. - Elizabeth Carlow, 94, of 20 Henderson Road, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 at Sweet Brook Care Center.
She was born in North Adams on Aug. 16, 1916, daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Thompson Shortmon. She attended Drury High School.
She worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. for 46 years until her retirement in 1978.
She attended Stamford (Vt.) Community Church and the former Stamford Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sprague Retirees and enjoyed crocheting and puzzles.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Linda Carlow of Clarksburg, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Harold Carlow. Her son, Richard Carlow, died Sept. 12, 2009. Two sisters, Pauline Dodge and Mildred Sherman, and a brother, Frederick Shortmon, also are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Elizabeth Carlow will be Thursday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
