John J. Cilli, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - John Joseph Cilli, 90, of 278 Walnut St. died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on Aug. 11, 1920, son of Vito and Ceasarina Zerra Cilli, he graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1938. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Mr. Cilli was employed by the former Arnold Print Works and was last employed by what was then North Adams State College until his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and a member of the Sons of Italy. He really enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. He leaves two sisters, Lydia "Lee" Cilli and Dale Foote, both of North Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Four sisters, Mary Giansante, Rose Hopkins, Lorraine Gadbois and Dorothy Guillotte, and two brothers, Anthony and Orlando Cilli, are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Cilli will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 10 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial contributions are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
