Vincent R. Corsi, 85
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Vincent R. Corsi, 85, of 74 Frederick St. died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at his home.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 24, 1926, a son of Antonio and Maria Pieri Corsi, he graduated from Drury High School.
A decorated Navy veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Missouri.
Mr. Corsi was employed for many years at the former General Electric Co. in Pittsfield.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
His first wife, the former Mary Hamilton, died March 19, 1966.
His wife, the former Dorothy Cardinal, died Dec. 5, 1998.
He leaves two daughters, Gloria Kennedy of North Adams and Maria Williams and her husband, Mark, of Glastonbury, Conn.; a son, Anthony Corsi and his wife, Linda, of North Adams; a sister, Helen Hafner of Adams; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
His sisters Amelia Biondello and Rose Mancuso and brothers Raymond, Dominick and Philip Corsi predeceased him.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Corsi will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 21, at 11 at St. Elizabeth's Church in North Adams. Burial with military honors will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
