John P. Scarbo, 68

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — John P. Scarbo, 68, of 20 Kimpton Ave. died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at the home of his sister Margaret Ann Bush on Wheeler Avenue, surrounded by his family. He was a longtime and active member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company and the Clarksburg Police Department. Born in North adams on May 5, 1943, a son of George Henry and Margaret Mary O'Leary Scarbo, he graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams. Mr. Scarbo was employed for many years at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Besides his sister and her husband, Keith, he leaves another sister, Sheila Marie Puricelli and her husband, Louis, of North Adams; a brother, Daniel Joseph Scarbo of North Adams, and his beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ellen Scarbo on Aug. 27, 1971. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Scarbo will take place Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 from St. Elizabeth's Church in North Adams. Burial will take place at a later date in Clarksburg Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company through the funeral home.

John will be sadly missed. He was a dedicated member of both my and the fire department. It is with a heavy heart to see him pass. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
