Gemelle Solomon, 87
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Gemelle Solomon, 87, of 549 East Main St. died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 16, 1924, daughter of Massoud and Bedea Shaker Ferris, she graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Solomon was employed as a bookkeeper for the former St. Francis of Assisi Church. She first worked at the former A. Ashkar Sales Co.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. She enjoyed playing cards and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Deeb Solomon, died in 1958.
She leaves a daughter, Barbara Gagnon of New Boston, N.H.; her grandchildren Sarah, Patrick and CJ Gagnon, and Beth Solomon, Jennifer Murch and Jessica Mullen; her daughter-in-law, Susan Demers of Westford; sister-in-law, Jean Ferris of North Adams, and nieces and nephews.
Her sons Shaffie Solomon died April 9, 1988, and Joseph Solomon died in infancy. She also was predeceased her two brothers Ferris Ferris and Shaker "Dickie" Ferris.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Solomon will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 17, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gagnon Children's Education Fund in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
