Robert E. Brzozowy, 61
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Robert Eugene Brzozowy, 61, of 38 North Holden St. died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at home.
Born in North Adams on May 7, 1950, son of Ruth Wickline Brzozowy Tirrell of Wellford, S.C., and the late Mitchell Brzozowy, he attended Greenfield schools, including Greenfield Trade School, and later received his general education development degree.
An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a cook.
Mr. Brzozowy was a self-employed carpenter for many years.
He enjoyed metal detecting, American archaeology and furniture refinishing.
Besides his mother and stepfather, Merwin Tirrell, he leaves his wife, the former Holly O'Kane, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1988; a daughter, Kelly Brzozowy of Greenfield; three sons, Jeffrey, Clayton and Chad Brzozowy, all of North Adams; a brother, Glenn Tirrell and his, wife, Sue, of South Carolina; four sisters, Barbara Raymond and her husband, Neil, of Shelburne Falls, June Ahearn of Colrain, Shirley Gridley and her husband, Wilbur, of Chesapeake, Va., and Ruth Fontanella and her husband, Michael, and Robert's granddaughter, Kendra, all of Lyman, S.C., several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and neices and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Calling hours for Mr. Brzozowy will be Sunday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 4 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home.
