Mary Giorgini, 100
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Giorgini, 100, of 71 Veazie St. died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Pittsfield on March 17, 1911, daughter of Gregorio and Maria Pollone Pollone she moved to North Adams as an infant and attended North Adams schools, including Drury High School.
Mrs. Giorgini was employed by the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. for more than 35 years, retiring in 1967. She also volunteered as a Gray Lady at North Adams Regional Hospital for more than 25 years.
She was an active communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church, especially working at its annual bazaar. She was devoted to the rosary.
Her husband, George Giorgini, whom she married Sept. 4, 1933, died on Sept. 2, 1975.
She leaves her son, Robert A. Giorgini and his wife, Jean, of Hudson, N.H.; two grandchildren, Ann Marie Giorgini of Hudson and Mark Giorgini of Manchester, N.H., and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, including Mary Ellen Faustini of North Adams.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Phyllis Faustini and Frances and Susan Pollone, four brothers, Ralph, Pasquale, Anthony and Dominick Pollone.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Giorgini will be Thursday, Dec. 15, at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth's Church or EWTN, the Catholic television network, in care of the funeral home.
