Betty J. Roy, 72
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Betty Jane Roy, 72, of 67 B St. died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Richmond, Maine, on June 22, 1939, a daughter of Clinton and Evelyn Smith Hinkley, she attended schools in Maine and graduated from Richmond High School.
Mrs. Roy was employed for several years at the former Sprague Electric and former C.B. Sports companies. She was last employed as a bartender at the Homestead Tavern.
Her husband, Romey Joseph Roy Sr., whom she married Oct. 27, 1963, died on Feb. 9, 2005.
She leaves five daughters, Rita Y. Ciempa and her husband, Michael, of North Admas, Denise Gove and her husband, William, and Sonia Grant, all of Auburn, Maine, Sherry Willett of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Tina Circle and her husband, Richard, of Two Rivers, Alaska; four sons, Richard Roy of Auburn, Scott Willett of St. Petersburg, Romey J. "Kyko" Roy Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Adams, Jeffrey Roy and his wife, Tina, of Brandon, Fla.; two brothers, Sherwood Hinkley of Apopka, Fla., and Gilman Hinkley of Richmond, Maine; four sisters, all in Maine, Dolores Emmons of Topsham, Cleo Chancellor of Richmond, Marita Miller of Boothbay Harbor and Emelene Fickett of Farmingdale, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Keith Willett and siblings Charles Hinkley in 2009 and Marilyn Pinkham in June.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Roy will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 19, from 4o to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
