Carolyn E. Calnan, 85
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Carolyn Elizabeth Calnan, 85, of 30 Natural Bridge Road died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at her home surrounded by family.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 3, 1926, a daughter of Frederick F. and Mary C. Gross Thomann, she attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. Calnan was employed by J.T. Bus Lines for 40 years as a bus driver for children with special needs.
She was a communicant of the former St. Francis' Church.
Her husband, Richard A. Calnan, whom she married on April 19, 1947, died on Oct. 29, 1986.
She leaves a daughter, Bonnie Lee Szafranski of Gilbert, Ariz.; three sons, James Bernard Calnan of Chicopee, Daniel David Calnan of Clarksburg and Richard Michael Calnan of Readsboro, Vt.; a sister, Martha Sands of North Adams; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick Thomann
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Calnan will be Saturday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 to until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
