Fern M. Goodrich, 77
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Fern M. LeMieux Goodrich, 77, of Liverpool, N.Y., formerly of North Adams, died May 3, 2012, at Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville, N.Y.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 6, 1934, daughter of Paul J. and Bernadette Delisle Lemieux, she graduated from the former Holy Family Parochial School in 1948 and from St. Anne's Academy in Marlboro in 1952. She moved to Liverpool in the 1950s.
Mrs. Goodrich was employed as a draftsman in the former distribution Transformer Department of General Electric in Pittsfield.
She was an avid supporter of the arts. She sang in the Syracuse (N.Y.) Opera Company Chorus for many seasons and worked tirelessly on behalf of the Syracuse Symphony.
She and her husband, Charles E. Goodrich of Pittsfield, were married in the former Holy Family Church on Oct. 2, 1954
Besides her husband, she leaves her daughter, Renee Goodrich Schneider and her husband, Keith, of Gainesville, Fla.; two sons, Matthew Goodrich and Andre Goodrich and his wife, Jill Jaques, all of Seattle.; two sisters, Denise M. LeMieux of North Adams and Suzette T. LeMieux of New York City; a brother, Bertrand J. LeMieux and his wife, Lucille, of Bonita, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Elaine Shaw of Yorktown, Ind., five nephews, two nieces and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her brother, Raynald LeMieux, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mrs. Goodrich will be held on Saturday, June 2, at 10:45 a.m. in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
Calling hours will be on Friday, June 1, from 5 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
