Rose A. Simard, 96
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Rose Agnes Simard, 96, of 106 Veazie St. died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 27, 1915, a daughter of Louis and Rose Boyd Felix, she graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School.
Mrs. Simard was employed for many years at North Adams Regional Hospital in the operating room.
She was a longtime communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and its successor, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Albert J. Simard, whom she married in 1936, died June 29, 1988.
She leaves a daughter, Joyce M. Abuisi and her husband, Francis, of Bethlehem, Pa.; a son, Richard A. Simard and his wife, Christina, of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Wendy Simard, Michael Simard, John Simard, Melissa Lash, Paula Bopp, Jeffrey Abuisi and Keith Abuisi, 14 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The last of her immediate family, she was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Simard will take place Thursday, June 7, at 11 a.m. from St. Elizabeth's Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Flowers maybe sent or memorial donations are suggested for the charity of the donors choice through the funeral home.
