Catherine M. Donega, 87
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Catherine M. Donega, 87, of 10421 Route 40 Granville, N.Y., formerly of North Adams, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at Orchards Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Granville.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 21, 1925, daughter of Victor and Dora Ghidotti Donega, she attended local schools, including Drury High School. She moved with her family to Queensbury, N.Y., in 1974.
Mis Donega was employed at the former Hoosac Cotton Mills for many years.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Annunciation Church. She was a caregiver to her family and enjoyed cooking.
She leaves cousins including Rudolph Colo, John Ghidotti, Florence Andreatta, Catherine Scerbo, Helen Donega, Carl Donega and John P. Donega.
Her sister, Matilda Donega, died on Feb. 9, 1997, and her brothers the Rev. Carl Donega on Dec. 31, 1995, and John B. Donega on Sept. 29, 2005.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Miss Donega will be celebrated Thursday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
A calling period will be held Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the North Adams Council on Aging (NA-COA) in care of the funeral home.
