Robert Wylde, 83
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Robert Wylde, 83, of Morgan Hill, Calif., died on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011.
Born in Webster on Jan. 7, 1928, son of Frank and Hazel Ostberg Wylde, he received his aeronautical engineering degree from Tri-State College in Indiana.
A veteran of World War II and Korea, he served in the Marines as a pilot.
Mr. Wylde worked as a missile launch engineer with the Atlas missile program at Vandenberg Air Force base in California and as a project engineer with United Technologies Center in Sunnyvale, Calif., retiring as an engineer with Lockheed.
He enjoyed gardening antique flintlock pistols, numismatic, and traveling to find his roots in England and Sweden.
He leaves his wife, the former Therese Robert; two daughters, Pele Wylde and Summer Umstot, both of San Diego; a brother, John Wylde of Dunedin, Fla.; two grandchildren, Bryce and Taylor, both of San Diego; and four stepchildren, Danielle Robert of Morgan Hill, J. B. Robert of Monterey, Calif., Pierre Robert and his wife, Jamie, and their sons Benjamin and Andre of Springfield, Ore., and Marie Robert and her husband, Earl Glusac, and their daughters Katie and Tina of Woodbridge, Conn.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mr. Wylde will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, at 10 in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, is in charge of arrangements.
