Elwin K. Stokes, 72
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Elwin Keith "Al" Stokes, 72, of 45 Spring St. and formerly of 70 North Hoosac Road, Williamstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at his home.
Born in New Lebanon, N.Y., on July 29, 1940, son of Waylan and Janice Smith Stokes, he graduated from the former Williamstown High School with the class of 1958.
He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for several years.
Mr. Stokes was last employed by Countryside Landscaping until his retirement. Before that, he worked at LaValley Oil for many years.
He enjoyed the outdoors and watching the Boston Celtics.
He leaves a daughter, Karen Tatro of North Adams; a son, David Stokes and his wife, Brenda, of North Adams; a brother, Loren Stokes of East Berlin, Penn.; two grandchildren, Allissa Tatro of Framingham and Travis Tatro of North Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
His siblings Thomas Stokes and Cynthia Stokes are deceased.
