DALTON, Mass - The Wahconah football team started fast and never looked back as they took on the Holyoke Knights Friday night.

Wahconah was able to put up a tremendous amount of points while holding the Knights (0-2) off the board for most of the game.

Wahconah received scoring contributions from multiply Warriors, Will Geneway threw for over more than 100 yards, rushed for more than 50 yards, and threw three touchdown passes, Connor Washburn had two receiving touchdowns as Wahconah won, 56-10, to improve to 2-0.

The first half of the game was all Wahconah, and it wasted little time getting on the score board. Wahconah’s Dane Campbell returned the opening kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown.

The hosts didn’t take much time scoring when they had the ball on offense either. Wahconah scored on all of its possessions in the first quarter. Tanner Hastings scored on a 31 yard rush, Geneway scored on another 50 yard rush, and the Warriors converted a turnover from a Andrew Carlson interception into another touchdown.

The second quarter saw Geneway throw three touchdown passes. The first was a 51 yard pass to Washburn, the second was an 8-yard pass, and another 59 yard pass to Washburn. The Holyoke Knights were able to get on the board late in the second quarter after a blocked punt from Jeff Cintron. The Knights kicked a field goal to end the first-half scoring.

The second half saw two more touchdowns put up on the board. Wahconah threw for one more touchdown, and Knights finally hit pay dirt late in the 4th quarter.

Wahconah travels to play West Springfield on Friday.
