PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Pittsfield football team picked up a big Senior Night win on Friday, beating Chicopee, 62-19.

Pittsfield (3-3) was coming off a 52-0 win over Ludlow last week and picked up right where it left off. It only took the Generals two plays to get on the board with a big 51-yard catch and run from Da’Sean Brown. The defensive side of the ball was equally up for the task after allowing zero points last weekend, they got things going again with a forced fumble recovery just shy of midfield. One play later Elias Robinson broke one for 47 yards and the score to give Pittsfield a quick 14-0 lead.

“Things went our way tonight and I was really happy with the way our team played on all three sides of the ball.” Pittsfield head coach Brian Jezewski said.  “We’re young defensively, we had some issues against the run and our defensive coaching staff did a great job making some adjustments to shut it down and my hat goes off to our guys. They listened and worked really hard tonight.”

That defense continued to disrupt the Chicopee offense forcing a quick three-and-out. This time on the offensive side it was QB Marcus Jubrey who got things going on the ground with a quarterback keeper for 51 yards. Pittsfield tacked on one more touchdown from Elias Robinson making it 30-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Freddy Conyers added the last score of the half on an 82-yard kickoff return, something Pittsfield coach Brian Jezewski was proud of all game long. Pittsfield took a 46-12 lead into the break and already had its eyes set on getting back to .500 on the season.

Jubrey finished the game with three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown. Elias Robinson equaled that with three touchdowns of his own, but with eight touchdowns in total the whole offense played a part in this big win.

The Pittsfield defense gave up a late consolation touchdown, but overall held their ground and really made things difficult for Chicopee running the ball after some early success.

“Regardless if we are up by whatever or down by whatever we are trying to play one play at a time and live in the moment for that specific play and don’t get too far ahead of ourselves or far down on ourselves,” Jezewski added.

That is exactly what this team did on all three facets of the game closing out this win and looking to build momentum off of the back to back stellar performances.

Pittsfield will take on Putnam Vocational on the road next weekend before the big City rival game against Taconic in two weeks.
