Drury Rallies Late to Top Commerce

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Drury’s Matt Howland scored his first varsity goal in the 74th minute to break a 4-4 tie and send the Blue Devils on to a 6-4 win over Commerce on Tuesday.
 
“Matt picked a great time to score his first varsity goal,” Drury coach John Jacobbe said. “Great win for us after giving up a couple of tough late goals to a hard working undermanned Commerce team.”
 
Myles Beachamp scored three goals, including an insurance goal in the 78th minute with an assist from Dom Duteau, as Drury won for the second time in three days.
 
Jorge Bond scored twice and assisted on a goal. And Rommel Alvarez provided one assist.
 
Colin Daly stopped six shots to earn the victory in goal.
 
Drury (2-10-1) hosts Putnam Vocational on Thursday.
