NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The McCann Tech boys soccer team cruised past Duggan with a convincing 6-0 win Wednesday afternoon for its second win of the week after an 0-4 start.

Coming off their first win of the season, the Hornets were looking to keep things rolling, and that is exactly what they did. They jumped out early, controlling the play and eventually getting their first goal from a nice strike by Omar Uqdah.

Uqdah later added another goal in the first half and an assist in the second half to cap of an impressive game.

After his lid-lifter, it was all McCann as the Hornets continued to get shot after shot, forcing saves from Duggan’s keeper. McCann went into the break up, 2-0.

It was a team effort on both sides of the ball with five different scorers getting on the sheet. Andrew Levesque and the defense did the job as well, notching their first shutout.

“Omar, Matt, and Nick they play well together,” McCann Tech coach John Bresett said. “They move fluently and we are working on our passing game and it definitely showed a little bit better here today.

“Having a handful of guys who you can rely on to get the ball or find as targets is really good to have.”

The second half saw more of the same pressure by McCann scoring four more goals, The first by Carter Foucher and then quickly followed up by Conor Griswold, and Matt Bailey. Bailey’s goal came straight from a corner kick that went right over the goalie’s head. Cole Boisvert added on another one before the game was complete.

It looked as though the goal rush from last game carried over giving them a total of 11 goals in two games.

“We definitely had some momentum from the last game, but we need to keep the positive going forward and hopefully get a solid result tomorrow,” Bresett said, referring to McCann Tech’s matchup with Commerce at home on Thursday.
