Taconic Boys Fall to Mount Anthony Union
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Mount Anthony boys soccer team scored two quick goals to start the second half and take a three-goal lead en route to a 4-2 win over Taconic on Saturday.
The Thunder started the scoring with a goal by Frederick Yankey, but the Patriots rallied to take a 2-1 lead at half-time.
After falling behind, 4-1, Taconic pulled it together and got a Romeo Yankey goal assisted by Ronan MacDonald to cut the margin to two.
“I am pretty sure almost everybody on the team would say they had a bad game and it was not their day,” Taconic coach Jason Keller said. “ It was tough to watch as a coach because I know they are so much better than what they did Saturday. I have faith they will rebound for their game against PHS, and I want to quickly forget about today's game.”
Taconic (5-9) plays Pittsfield at Berkshire Community College on Tuesday evening, the second game of a girls-boys varsity double-header between the city rivals that starts at 5:45.
