Mounties Blank Franklin Tech in Class C
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Everett Bayliss had the hat trick Wednesday as the top-seeded Mount Greylock boys soccer team rolled into the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C Tournament with a 5-0 win over Franklin Tech.
Bayliss scored the game’s first goal unassisted in the fourth minute of play.
He added a pair of insurance goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half after Kofi Roberts and Tate Carothers each scored to give Mount Greylock a 3-0 lead.
Zinedine Doucette recorded a pair of assists.
Ward Bianchi needed to make one save to earn the shutout in goal.
Mount Greylock (9-6-1) will host either No. 5 Hampden Charter or No. 4 Springfield International Charter School in the regional semi-finals. Hampden Charter and SICS meet on Thursday afternoon in Springfield.
