PALMER, Mass. -- George Munemo scored in the fifth round of penalty kicks to give the Mount Greylock boys soccer team a 4-3 shootout win over Pathfinder Regional and a berth in Sunday’s Class C Western Massachusetts tournament final.

The Mounties struck first, getting a goal from Diego Galvez in the second minute to take a 1-0 lead.

Pathfinder struck back with a penalty kick from Dylan Peabody to make it 1-1 midway through the first half.

That is where it stood through the rest of regulation and two 10-minute overtimes before a five-round penalty kick shootout decided things.

Henrik Bingemann, Luca Hirsch and Christian Sullivan each scored before Munemo’s game-winner.

Dan Warren stopped six shots to earn the win in goal.

Mount Greylock moves on to Sunday’s Western Mass title game against Springfield International Charter School at Agawam High School.

NOTE: Because the Western Massachusetts tournament is part of the MIAA’s regular season and the state does not use overtime in the regular season, Thursday’s game counts as a tie for seeding purposes for next week’s state tournament.
