GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The Frontier boys soccer team Thursday jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first 12 minutes and hung on for a 2-1 win over Monument Mountain.

Ethan DeMaio and Connor Bagdon each scored a goal early for the visitors.

The Spartans (1-1) cut the deficit in half when Jackson Blanchard set up Patrick Yeung for a goal in the 34th minute, but that was as close as they could get.

Rhys Curtis made four saves in the loss.

Monument Mountain goes to Hoosac Valley on Saturday.
