WILBRAHAM, Mass. – Bahiru Sowe scored a goal, and John Mullen made five saves Tuesday as the Pittsfield boys soccer team earned a 1-1 tie against Minnechaug.

Amos Ezan set up Sowe for a goal in the third minute.

The Falcons got the equalizer midway through the second half.

“I thought the team again played really well, organized defensively, decisive on offense, and weren’t afraid to create chances,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “Minnechaug put a ton of pressure on our defense with playing so many balls over the top. We knew that coming into the game, and the boys were ready to handle it. The communication was top tier, and I thought we battled them really well in the air. Each game we are making progress of becoming a more complete team.”

Pittsfield (0-2-1) goes to Amherst on Friday.
