Amherst Boys Rally Late Against Pittsfield
AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst boys soccer team Friday scored three unanswered goals in the last 18 minutes to earn a 3-1 win over PIttsfield.
After a scoreless first half, Bashiru Sowe scored to put Pittsfield on the board eight minutes into the second half.
But the Hurricanes answered 14 minutes later and went on to score three times in a 12-minute span.
“I thought we were playing solid for three-quarters of the game, but we unraveled as a whole team in the last 20 minutes,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “Lost our team shape, key turnovers, not tracking runners, out hustled. We have to play better in order to win games, especially closing games out.”
Reese Cook-Dubin made five saves in Pittsfield’s goal.
The Generals (0-3-1) goes to Frontier on Monday.
